FIRE PIT PROJECT

This fire pit is the only open sided indoor fire pit in Seminole County and possibly in Florida. Because the current Florida building code does not address this type of indoor fire pit, several contractors backed out of the project as they deemed it unlikely to obtain a permit. Ron was able to permit this portion of the job by working closely with the building officials and the architect to meet the needs of both the customer and the building officials. The fire pit is 7′x7′ with an 18″ base, we used over 200 lf of rebar to obtain the look of a “floating” fire pit. The concrete was high strength 5000 lb mix with fiber and we covered the concrete with “Rain Forest” marble and fire brick in the center. We also included access for a gas fired appliance to the center of the pit for future use.
